The ship

This is a monument in honor of the azoreans imigrants which have arrived in the city of Porto Alegre, south Brazil, in 1752. The piece was made by the artist Carlos Tenius and it's supposed to resemble a caravel, composed of intertwined human bodies, and having a winged figure ahead that resembles the mythological Icarus. The building at the background is State Government's administrative complex.
